Russia moves troops to border in Belgorod region - Ukrainian forces neutralize threat

Russian soldiers have been redeployed to the border with Ukraine in the Belgorod region. Ukrainian defenders have neutralized the threat, said Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.
He noted that Ukraine has detected the buildup of Russian forces near the Belgorod border. Enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups were also active in the area.
"In such cases, the Defense Forces take action and neutralize threats to Ukraine's territory. This is happening in border areas in different parts of the front," Kovalenko said.
Rumors of Ukrainian offensive in Belgorod region
On March 18, Russian military correspondents began reporting that Ukrainian defenders allegedly breached the border and entered the Belgorod region.
Following this, rumors spread online claiming that an evacuation had supposedly been declared in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district of Belgorod.
No official information about such a breach has been confirmed. However, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov complained about the difficult situation in the region.
Meanwhile, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, suggested that Russia benefits from escalating the situation ahead of US President Donald Trump’s negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
It’s also important to note that Ukrainian forces continue operations in the Kursk region, where they repelled 12 enemy attacks today.
