Russia carried out another massive strike on Ukraine, launching Shaheds and rockets at peaceful cities. During the night and morning of July 21, explosions were heard, in particular, in Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Kyiv

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the entrance to the Lukianivska metro station was damaged as a result of the Russian strike. The station is currently out of service, with trains running through it non-stop. Read more about what Lukianivka looks like.

In addition, a fire in a residential building and smoke in an open area were reported in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

In total, damage was recorded in 6 districts in Kyiv. Kiosks, a kindergarten, warehouses, and non-residential buildings were set on fire. As of now, there are 6 injured and one killed. According to the police, a man was killed in Solomianskyi district, 5 people were injured in Darnytskyi district, including a 15-year-old girl, and another was injured in Shevchenkivskyi district.

Ivano-Frankivsk

The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, reported a combined Russian attack on the city. The Russians attacked with rockets and Shaheds. He noted that today was the largest attack on the city since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

"There is damaged infrastructure in 3 villages of the community. We know that one of the villages in our community is also affected. The situation is also being clarified in two villages of our community. Unfortunately, there were a lot of hits," he wrote.

According to rescuers, four people were injured in Ivano-Frankivsk, including a child.

Kharkiv

After 1 a.m. Kyiv time, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported explosions in Kharkiv - the city was massively attacked by drones. In total, Russia carried out 12 attacks on the city, and there were strikes in the Kyiv district, one of them near an apartment building.

As a result of the Russian attack, windows were smashed in one of the residential buildings, the road, tram rails, and electric wires were also damaged, and a fire was reported at a civilian enterprise.

How Russia attacked Ukraine

Russia struck Ukraine with Shaheds from different directions, and also launched Kalibr cruise missiles, Kinzhal air-ballistic missiles, and missiles from Tu-95 bombers.
