Russian occupiers lost over 400 units of equipment in their attempts to take control of Avdiivka. This includes tanks and more, according to data from British intelligence.

In British intelligence, it was reminded that Russians have been actively trying to occupy Avdiivka since October last year and they have "made gradual, sustained progress". In response, Ukrainian defenders are strengthening their positions.

"In its effort to take the city, Russia has lost at least 400 tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and other hardware, as well as likely thousands of personnel," clarified the intelligence.

It was also added that the occupiers continued attacks in the area of Bakhmut to gain control of Chasiv Yar. However, since May 2023, when they captured Bakhmut, the Russians have not succeeded there.

Battles for Avdiivka

The situation in the Avdiivka area remains critical. The Russians have thrown all their forces into attempts to capture the city. They actively use their ground equipment and aviation to assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold their defense and actively destroy the enemy. As reported today by the Third Separate Assault Brigade, their fighters have already neutralized over four thousand Russian soldiers.

In some areas near the city, there is a ratio of six of our defenders to a hundred occupiers.

More details about the situation around the city were provided in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by Dmytro Lykhoviy, the spokesperson for the Tavria operational-strategic group.
