During the night of May 29, the enemy launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine using 90 strike UAVs of Shahed type, as well as decoy drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The drones approached from the directions of the Russian cities Millerovo, Oryol, and Kursk.

A key feature of this air attack was that the enemy targeted sites located in frontline regions.

To repel the attack, the following were engaged:

  • anti-aircraft missile units;
  • electronic warfare and drone warfare units;
  • mobile fire teams of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

As of 9:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defense forces eliminated 56 enemy drones in the eastern and northern regions of the country, including:

  • 10 UAVs shot down by firepower;
  • 46 UAVs jammed or lost locally due to electronic warfare systems.
  • Drone strikes were recorded in nine frontline locations across the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions.

Ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has regularly shelled Ukrainian territory. These attacks often involve guided aerial bombs, drones, artillery, and missiles of various types. Civilian infrastructure is frequently hit, posing a severe threat to the population.

Russia now conducts drone attacks almost every night. On the night of May 29, the enemy launched six missiles and 88 drones against Ukraine.
