On the night of May 4, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine using 165 attack drones and imitators. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 69 Shahed and other types of attack drones.

The attack was launched at around 9 PM on May 3 from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Prymorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the occupied Prymorsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Aviation forces, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare equipment, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack.

According to the official information of the Air Force, as of 9 AM., 69 Shahed and other types of attack drones were destroyed over the eastern, northern, southern, and central regions of the country.

Another 80 imitation drones were lost without causing any damage.

Several regions were affected by the attack, including the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, and Kyiv regions.

Ukraine under attack

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian troops have been regularly attacking Ukrainian territory. Civilian objects are often targeted, which creates an additional threat.

On May 4, fires broke out in different parts of Kyiv due to the fall of debris from downed drones. Fires were also reported in buildings.

Seven cars were on fire, and a fire broke out on the roof of a high-rise building.

One person was injured in a nighttime drone attack in Cherkasy.
