The Russian army launched 81 attack drones at Ukraine's territory on the night of Thursday, January 30. Air defense forces operated in 10 regions of the country, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

On the night of January 30, 2025, from 7 p.m. Kyiv time on January 29, Russia attacked with 81 Shahed drones and UAVs of various types, launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millierovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine`s Air Forces and Defense Forces.

As of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, it was confirmed that Ukrainian forces shot down 37 Shahed drones and UAVs of other types in the Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Odesa regions.

Another 39 enemy imitation drones were lost locally, without negative consequences.

Due to the Russian attack, the Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Poltava regions were affected. Industrial enterprises, private and apartment buildings, as well as vehicles were hit. An enemy attack drone struck a high-rise building in Sumy. Unfortunately, there are casualties, and emergency services are working to eliminate the aftermath while assistance is being provided to the victims.

Night attack on Ukraine

On the night of January 30, the Russian army once again launched attack drones at Ukraine's territory. Air raid alerts were declared in several regions.

In particular, the enemy struck one of the high-rise buildings in the city of Sumy. As a result of the drone hit, apartments were destroyed. According to the regional administration, the number of dead victims from the night attack has risen to four. Nine others received injuries of varying degrees of severity, including a child.

In addition, destruction was reported in the Poltava region.
