Russia launches nearly 170 drones and two missiles at Ukraine overnight: Air defense works

During the night of February 19, Russia attacked Ukraine with 167 strike drones and various types of decoy UAVs. In addition, the enemy launched two ballistic missiles, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
During the massive air attack:
- 167 drones were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
- Two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles targeted the Sumy region from the Voronezh region.
To repel the air assault, the following were deployed:
- Aviation
- Anti-aircraft missile forces
- Electronic warfare units
- Mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 9:00 a.m., Kyiv time, 106 UAVs were confirmed destroyed over the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, and several other regions.
In addition, 56 decoy drones were lost locally without causing any harm.

Russia’s ongoing strikes on Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian forces have regularly attacked Ukraine, using various types of missiles, guided aerial bombs, ballistic weapons, and UAVs. Drone attacks occur almost every night, posing a severe threat to civilians.
During the February 19 attack, Russian troops hit Odesa. As a result, 14 schools, 13 kindergartens, and a large residential neighborhood with over 250 residents were left without electricity and heating. Initially, one person was reported injured, but the number of casualties later increased.
