Russia launches mass drone attacks on Kharkiv: Details

On the night of May 6, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kharkiv with Shahed drones. Several explosions were heard, and impacts have been recorded, according to the Telegram channel of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
City center
At 03:36 a.m. Kyiv time, he informed that the Russian Federation struck the city center with a Shahed drone. As a result of the attack, a private house caught fire.
"The enemy launched a Shahed UAV strike on the central, densely populated area of the city. As a result of the drone attack, a private house is burning. Information on potential casualties is being clarified," wrote Terekhov.
Industrial district
Between 04:07 and 04:15 Kyiv time, three more explosions were heard in the city. As clarified by Kharkiv’s mayor, these occurred in the Industrial district.
"Three strikes have been recorded, presumably in the Industrial district of Kharkiv," the message read at 04:16.
At the same time, this information was confirmed by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov. He mentioned that the consequences of the attack are being assessed.
Kholodnohirskyi district
At 04:20, another explosion was heard in the city. The mayor confirmed it.
"Another strike, now in the Kholodnohirs'kyi district (preliminary). The massive attack by enemy UAVs on the city is still ongoing — several drones are still being detected in the air," the message stated.
Shevchenkivskyi district
"Another explosion occurred in the Shevchenkivskyi district," Mayor Terikhov wrote at 04:25.
Kyivskyi district
"A strike was recorded in the Kyivskyi district," the mayor of Kharkiv reported at 04:28.

Terekhov wrote that there is information about a fire at the site of one of the drone strikes in the Kyivskyi district. No information on casualties has been reported.

At 05:31, another explosion was heard in Kharkiv. Terekhov clarified that the explosion occurred in the Kyivskyi district.

"A fire at one of the city's largest markets has been recorded after the last enemy drone strike," Terekhov specified.
Saltivskyi district
"The last two strikes—preliminarily—were on the Saltivskyi district. Information regarding casualties is being clarified," the message at 04:42 reads.
Terekhova added that at this moment, the massive drone attack is ongoing.
"The Shahed drones are still heading towards Kharkiv - be careful, and if possible, move to a shelter. All metro stations are operating as bomb shelters," he writes.
Shelling of Kharkiv
Russian forces have recently intensified their shelling of Kharkiv. The enemy regularly uses drones and targets civilian infrastructure with no connection to military facilities.
During the night of April 30, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on the city. A total of 16 strikes were recorded, with hits reported in the Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Nemyshlianskyi, Slobidskyi, and Saltivskyi districts.
The attack damaged residential buildings, a business, and a medical facility. Fires broke out at the impact sites, and by morning, the number of injured had risen to 47.
