Russia launched 72 drones at Ukraine overnight on January 26. The air defense forces shot down the majority of the enemy UAVs, according to the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.

The occupiers launched drones from five directions in Russia: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

As of 9:00 AM, air defense forces had destroyed 50 strike drones and UAVs of other types. Nine additional enemy decoy drones were lost locationally (without negative consequences). One drone remained airborne.

Air defense operations took place in eight Ukrainian regions: Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi.

Consequences of the Russian attack

Last night, Russians targeted Kharkiv with drones, hitting the Osnovianskyi district. The attack caused damage to windows and roofs of 12 private houses.

Additionally, overnight, the occupiers struck Sumy with drones, damaging a building of one educational institution, a multi-story residential building, and administrative buildings.

As reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration, seven Russian drones were destroyed in the Sumy region that night.
