Russian army launches dozens drones and missiles at Ukraine: Downed targets revealed
Russian army attacked Ukraine with 33 attack drones and two S-300 missiles on the night of January 18. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 22 drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Russian invaders launched 33 Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area and the Kursk region of Russia. They also fired two S-300 anti-aircraft-guided missiles at the Kharkiv region.
The main directions of the attack were south and north. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces were operating within the Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
"The Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces destroyed 22 enemy UAVs. Several more drones failed to reach their targets. Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups, as well as electronic warfare equipment, were involved in repelling the air attack," the statement says.
Russian attack on Ukraine
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian troops launched kamikaze drones on Ukraine on the evening of January 17.
The explosions were heard in Sumy. The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that Air Defense Forces destroyed two enemy Shaheds. Explosions were also heard in the Khmelnytskyi region.
Also in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed four drones.
A woman was killed in the Russian shelling of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region. An educational institution was also damaged.
