At night on December 4, Russia attacked Ukraine using a guided aviation missile and 50 drones. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to destroy 29 enemy drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

This night, Russia used:

  • A guided aviation missile (Kh-59/69), launched from the airspace of the Kursk region;
  • 50 strike drones, including Shahed UAVs and other types. Drone launch sites included Primorsk-Akhtarsk, Orel, and Millerovo areas.

Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces were involved to repel the Russian air attack.

By 9 a.m. Kyiv time, the Air Force confirmed the destruction of 29 drones in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, and several other regions. However, 18 drones were lost locally, and one left controlled airspace, heading toward temporarily occupied territories.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has regularly targeted Ukraine, posing threats to both civilian infrastructure and the population. The attacks utilize a variety of weapons, including drones, missiles, and more.

Over recent months, nightly attacks have become a common occurrence. For instance, on the night of December 3, Russian forces deployed 28 attack drones, including Shahed UAVs and other types of drones. Ukrainian air defenses managed to destroy 22 enemy targets.
