Russia, on the night of August 23, launched 49 drones of various types at Ukraine. Most of the UAVs were shot down; however, there were also hits, according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This night, the Russian forces launched 49 strike drones and simulator UAVs from four directions – Shatalovo, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The attack was repelled by units of electronic warfare and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Air defense forces neutralized 36 drones in the north, east, and center of the country.

As reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 13 UAVs were recorded hitting seven locations in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions.

Strike on Konotop

On the night of August 23 the occupiers massively attacked with drones the city of Konotop in the Sumy region. Explosions were heard in the city, air defense was operating.

According to the mayor of Konotop, three strikes were recorded, there were no dead and no injured.

“Russians hit the Konotop infrastructure object, which is already destroyed. In the next 48 hours there remains a high threat of additional strikes,” the city head warned.
