Russia launched nearly 70 Shahed drones at Ukraine: How many were destroyed
On the night of September 7, Russia launched 67 strike drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed the majority of the enemy drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
The occupiers launched drones from Kursk, Yeisk, and Cape Chauda in Crimea. The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian defense forces.
Air defense destroyed 58 Shaheds. Six drones were directed towards Russia, Belarus, and the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. An additional three drones were lost in transit.
Air defense operations were conducted in the Vinnytsia, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kherson, and Poltava regions.

On the night of September 7, air alerts were issued in several Ukrainian regions due to the threat of Shaheds. In Kyiv, explosions were heard, and air defense systems were active.
All drones targeting the capital were destroyed. However, debris from the Shaheds fell in several districts of Kyiv. In particular, debris was found on the grounds of a kindergarten in the Dniprovskyi district, and there was a fire in the Pecherskyi district.
