Russia launched 42 Shaheds at Ukraine: Number of downed drones
Russian invaders once again struck Ukraine with aerial drones in the night of March 6, launching a total of 42 Shahed kamikaze drones onto the country's territory, most of which were destroyed by the Defense Forces, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Defenders of the sky shot down 38 enemy drones.
"During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using UAVs of the Shahed type. Defense Forces destroyed 38 out of 42 of these drones," according to the morning briefing of the military command.
It is noted that information on casualties and damage to infrastructure objects is currently being clarified.
Russian night aerial attack on Ukraine
Since the evening and throughout this night of March 4 and 5 respectively, Russian forces have been launching kamikaze drones of the Shahed type en masse onto Ukraine. Enemy UAVs have been detected in various regions, with air alarms declared in the affected areas.
Around eleven 11 PM of March 5, explosions were heard in Odesa. Prior to this, the Air Force command had warned about the movement of Shahed kamikaze drones towards the city. Air defense forces also began operating in Odesa. Russians launched strike drones at the city in waves, resulting in several explosions. It was also reported that there was a power outage in several districts of Odesa.
Additionally, air defense systems were also active in the Kyiv region. It later became known that explosions were heard in the Khmelnytskyi region, where enemy drones flew towards Starokostiantyniv.
Explosions in Sumy were also reported by the regional administration. Three districts of the city were hit, with casualties reported.
