Russia keeping Kalibr missile carrier in Black Sea: Possible salvo named
As of 6:00 AM on December 26 (Kyiv time), one Kalibr cruise missile carrier has been detected in the Black Sea. Its maximum possible salvo is up to four missiles, reports the Ukrainian Navy.
At the same time, no Russian ships have been spotted in the Sea of Azov. However, military personnel observed a total of eight vessels in the Mediterranean Sea, three of which are Kalibr carriers, capable of launching up to 25 missiles.
The Navy also reported that over the past 24 hours, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
- to the Black Sea: 2 ships, 1 of which continued toward the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Sea of Azov: 5 ships, 1 of which were coming from the Bosporus Strait.
“Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling automatic identification systems,” the Ukrainian Navy summarized.
Notably, yesterday morning, on December 25, four Kalibr missile carriers were detected in the Black Sea, with a total salvo of up to 28 missiles.
Additionally, the enemy launched a combined attack on Ukraine yesterday. Specifically, they launched Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea, deployed Tu-95MS bombers (which were lifted into the sky overnight), and continued drone attacks.
As of 12:00 AM on December 25, Russia had launched 184 aerial targets at Ukraine, including drones and missiles. By that time, 113 of the enemy’s aerial targets had been confirmed as downed.
