Russia intensively shelling border areas of Kharkiv region, casualties reported
Since the morning of May 10, the border areas of Kharkiv region have been under massive Russian shelling. There are casualties among civilians, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
Thus, according to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the Russian occupiers fired at the villages of Buhaivka, Cherkaski Tyshky, and twice at the city of Vovchansk.
"Around 10 a.m. the enemy fired at the city of Vovchansk, injuring two civilians," he says.
At around 1:20 p.m. Russian occupants struck again at a private house in Vovchansk, wounding a 60-year-old woman.
"At the same time, a civilian man was killed and two others were injured as a result of hostile shelling of a private household, one of them under the rubble of the house," adds Syniehubov.
In addition, a 55-year-old civilian man was killed during the shelling of the village of Cherkaski Tyshky in the Kharkiv district at 12:50 p.m. However, there were no casualties during the Russian shelling of Buhaivka village, despite the damage to a private house.
Situation in border area of Kharkiv region
In early May, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the Russian occupiers had intensified attacks in certain areas in the Kupiansk direction. However, they did not have enough force to open a new front line.
On May 10, the head of the KRMA clarified that Russian shelling from multiple rocket launchers, MLRS, and artillery continued all night in the border area. Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, bore the brunt of the attack. Russia also tried to break through the border with the help of subversive reconnaissance groups.
Later, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine clarified that Russian troops used armored vehicles to break through the border in the Kharkiv region. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region, but the fighting is still ongoing. In particular, according to the Deep State map, a gray zone has formed on the border in the Kharkiv region near the village of Pletenivka.
