Russia has intensified its aggressive propaganda efforts in Germany following its invasion of Ukraine. The targets of this propaganda include politicians, government authorities, and independent media outlets, as reported by Deutsche Welle, according to Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

The Russian authorities have adapted the content and tone of their political disinformation to their ongoing military actions against Ukraine. This propaganda includes disseminating false information to legitimize Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and maintain his grip on power.

Specifically, Russian propaganda in Germany aims to undermine public trust in politics, state parliaments, and free media. According to Bodo Becker, a counterintelligence expert, it seeks to discredit and weaken the country's alliances with other nations and its relationships with the European Union and NATO.

Becker also emphasized that Russian propaganda frequently targets controversial topics within Germany, transforming them into its tools. Russia uses various means to directly and indirectly spread disinformation.

Previously, Russian intelligence services have employed unique influence methods to conceal the Kremlin's involvement in cultivating pro-Russian and anti-Ukrainian narratives in the United States and Europe. This includes attempts to disrupt the internal unity of Ukrainian society and erode trust between Ukraine and its allies.

Additionally, the social media platform Twitter, owned by Elon Musk, has played a significant role in amplifying Russian propaganda regarding Ukraine, reaching a larger audience than before the conflict began.
