Russia continues to violate the "energy truce." On the morning of April 1, the enemy attacked another energy facility in Kherson, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"After Riyadh, one of the agreements with the United States was to refrain from striking energy infrastructure. At the same time, Russia continues to violate this agreement," Sybiha said.

According to the Ukrainian minister, after the talks in Riyadh, Russia damaged energy facilities in:

  • Kharkiv;
  • Poltava region;
  • Kherson. In the morning, the enemy attacked another energy facility in the city, resulting in 45,000 residents being left without electricity.

Energy truce

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed introducing a ceasefire in the air and at sea as initial steps to resolve the war. During March negotiations with the US delegation in Saudi Arabia, Washington offered Ukraine a full ceasefire. Kyiv agreed to the proposal, while Moscow maintained silence for a long time.

Later, during a conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the parties discussed halting strikes on Ukrainian and Russian energy infrastructure.
