On the morning of Tuesday, December 23, Russia carried out another massive combined strike on Ukraine. The enemy used missiles and strike drones, according to the Air Force and the Air Raid Alert Map.
What Russia used
Drones
In several regions of the country, air raid alerts were issued as early as Monday evening - the Russian army launched several groups of strike drones. However, by nightfall, the Air Force warned that enemy drones were moving in southern and western directions.
As a result, alerts were issued in almost all regions.
Missiles
By around 6:00 a.m. Kyiv time, it became known that the first enemy missiles had been detected in the country’s airspace. According to the Air Force, they were moving from the Sumy and Chernihiv regions toward the central and then western regions.

Where explosions occurred
As of 07:20 Kyiv time, explosions were reported in Kyiv and Odesa. Local authorities also reported that the Ivano-Frankivsk region was under attack by Shahed drones.
Additionally, the border areas in the Sumy region were hit by a massive drone strike during the night. Several districts recorded direct hits, along with power supply disruptions.
As of 07:55, it was reported that air defense forces were operating in the Khmelnytskyi region, with confirmed destruction of enemy aerial targets. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties or injuries. The enemy is attempting to strike the region’s infrastructure.
At 08:20, it became known that a two-story residential building was damaged by the enemy attack, with windows blown out by the blast wave. In addition, a wooden utility building was destroyed, and three vehicles were damaged.
No people were injured. Security and defense personnel, as well as other services, are currently working at the site.
Initial consequences
As of 07:20 Kyiv time, it is already known that several regions have begun implementing emergency power outages. This includes Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions, as well as Kyiv. These measures are likely linked to the fact that Russia traditionally targets Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
As previously reported, power supply issues have also been noted in the Sumy region. According to the regional military administration, Russian drones attacked civilian infrastructure in the Konotop and Shostka districts. Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured.
Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia might carry out massive strikes on Ukraine during the Christmas holidays, despite claims of the absence of a so-called Christmas ceasefire.
