Russia fires over 100 drones at Ukraine – How many were shot down?
Russian occupiers launched 108 drones at Ukraine on the night of December 15. Air defense forces were active in 10 regions across Ukraine, according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
Russian forces launched strike drones from four regions in Russia – Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, and Millerovo. Additionally, during the night, the enemy attacked Ukraine with an S-300 guided anti-aircraft missile.
As of 8:30, 56 Shaheds and drones of other types were confirmed to be destroyed. Air defense forces were active in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Due to effective counteraction, 49 drones did not reach their targets (location lost), while another three returned to Russia.
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, infrastructure objects, multi-apartment and private buildings, vehicles, and civilian property were damaged in several regions of Ukraine as a result of falling drones.
Consequences of the Russian attack
That night, Russian forces targeted Mykolaiv with strike drones. According to local authorities, an infrastructure object was damaged, and two workers were injured in the attack.
Furthermore, drone attacks were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where two houses, a vehicle, a gas pipeline, and a power transmission line were damaged.
