Russia faces record increase in men with disabilities over invasion of Ukraine - UK intel
Between 2022 and 2023, Russia recorded a record increase in the number of Russian men with disabilities aged 31-59, according to the British Ministry of Defense.
According to the intelligence report, based on the analysis of Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund data, there were 1.67 million men with disabilities aged 31-59 on the terrorist country's territory in 2022.
In 2023, this figure increased by 507,000 or 30%. According to Russian demographers, the increase in the number of men with disabilities is likely related to the war in Ukraine.
"This is almost certainly the case. A significant majority of the over 355,000 casualties that the Russian Armed Forces have suffered as a result of the conflict in Ukraine have been wounded personnel," adds intelligence.
It also says the average daily number of Russian losses has increased since the start of the Russian offensive in the fall of 2023.
"The record rise in men with disabilities aged 31-59 and wounded personnel will have a significant impact on the Russian medical and social services," the report says.
Russia's losses in the war
According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated another 1,160 occupiers over the past day. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost 429,580 military personnel.
As previously reported by UK intelligence, Russia's war against Ukraine likely led to a shortage of medical workers across the aggressor's territory.
