Russia escalates fighting near Pokrovsk front: Syrskyi reveals details

Despite the loud statements by the Russian Federation about allegedly being ready for a ceasefire during the May holidays, the enemy has intensified the fighting in the Pokrovsk direction, according to Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Syrskyi, the terrorist country, despite the lack of prospects, is trying to break through the defense of the Defense Forces in the Pokrovsk direction and reach the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"To this end, the Russian command daily throws new units into battle, drives its soldiers to death, and reports on phantom successes and victories," he added.
The Commander-in-Chief of the AFU noted that he devoted today to working with the brigades operating in the Pokrovsk direction, with the aim of resolving problematic issues and providing assistance to unit commanders in organizing combat operations. In particular, decisions were made regarding additional provision of:
-
ammunition;
-
drones;
-
electronic warfare means;
-
reserves.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, in turn, notes that the Russians are intensifying assault actions on the front and dragging out talks about a ceasefire. According to him, the increase is being observed in various directions.
Situation at the front
The Pokrovsk direction has long remained the hottest on the front. In just the past day, Ukrainian fighters stopped 75 enemy offensive actions there. The total number of battles on the front reached 177.
As reported by the operational-strategic troop grouping Khortytsia, Russian terrorists want to break through to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region by May 9.
Meanwhile, the dictator of Russia, Volodymyr Putin, from "humanitarian considerations," announced a "truce in the war against Ukraine from May 8 to 11."
