Russian troops massively attacked a key energy facility in Kherson for more than a day. The destruction of the facility has led to serious power outages, says Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

The Russians have violated the agreements again and have been massively striking a key energy infrastructure enterprise in Ukraine for more than a day.

Russians are attacking the facility that provides electricity to the city with artillery and drones, and these attacks are still ongoing.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces fought to repel Russia's attacks at night, but in the morning, the Russians managed to destroy the energy facility.

Power engineers are already working to stabilize the situation, but there is a possibility of forced power outages.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of Kherson Regional State Administration, urged citizens to use electricity sparingly, as power outages are likely soon.

Energy truce

This year, with the mediation of the United States, Ukraine and Russia agreed to stop strikes on energy and port infrastructure. The so-called truce came into effect on March 25.

However, shortly thereafter, Russia violated all agreements by striking at Ukrainian energy facilities.

Instead, although Russia did not stop attacking the Ukrainian energy sector, the Russians invented fake strikes on their facilities.

RBC-Ukraine wrote that, according to Zelenskyy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sent fictitious reports to the United States about alleged strikes on their energy sector.
