Russia destroys crossing over Oskil River in Kharkiv region
Russia targeted a crossing over the Oskil River in the Kharkiv region with a missile on the night of Wednesday, July 17, according to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
According to him, the frontline in the Lyptsi and Vovchansk directions remains stable. Active hostilities also continue in the Vovchansk direction.
Syniehubov noted that the situation in the Kupiansk direction is sometimes more difficult than in the north of Kharkiv region. In particular, last night the crossing of the Oskil River was destroyed there.
“Last night the enemy once again destroyed the crossing over the Oskil River. Now we will take all measures to restore and rebuild it. Unfortunately, this is a typical situation for us. However, the enemy shows that this is a matter of principle for it. Previously, it used either guided bombs or other means to strike there. Today, a Kh-type missile was launched. Thus, we understand that the target is a priority for the enemy. Therefore, in combination with the intensification of assault attacks, the destruction of crossings, the Kupiansk direction remains a priority for the enemy,” said Syniehubov.
The Russian forces destroyed a civilian crossing, which is used by civilians and buses, including those used for evacuation.
Positional fighting continued on the frontline in many areas. Russian forces are advancing to northwest of Avdiivka.
