The Russian Federation has destroyed all cogeneration plants that served the city of Kharkiv. Mobile boiler houses will be used there, states Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"We are focusing on Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region because we understand that the Russians have effectively destroyed all the cogeneration plants around Kharkiv that supported the city. We are bringing in small mobile boiler houses, each with a capacity of 1 MW, which will be installed by local authorities," he said.

According to him, similar technologies will be used in other cities where critical infrastructure has been damaged.

Russian strikes on Kharkiv

The Russian forces continue to deliberately destroy Kharkiv's infrastructure, targeting residential buildings, energy facilities, and industrial zones with missile and artillery strikes.

Back in April of this year, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that almost all of the city's energy infrastructure had been destroyed. Against this backdrop, Kharkiv experienced power supply interruptions.

In particular, the city was forced to end the previous heating season early due to Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure.
