Russia claims drone attack, allegedly shot down near Moscow
Russia was reportedly attacked by an unidentified drone, which was said to have been destroyed over Podolsky this morning, November 29, according to Moscow Mayor
"The Air Defense Forces in the Podolsky district repelled the attack of a drone flying towards Moscow. According to preliminary data, there are no destruction or casualties at the crash site. Emergency services are working at the scene," said Sobyanin.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that the drone was shot down over the territory of the Podolsky municipal district of the Moscow region at around 6:30.
Drone attacks on Russia
In recent weeks, there has been an increased frequency of attacks by unidentified drones on the territory of the Russian Federation. For example, on the night of November 26, explosions were heard in the Moscow region, Tula, and other regions of Russia. Russians immediately claimed drone attacks and the supposed actions of air defense systems.
The Russian Ministry of Defense asserted that air defense forces allegedly destroyed 11 kamikaze drones in four regions. The governor of the Moscow region claimed they had intercepted 5 drones, while in the Bryansk region, they claimed to have intercepted 4.
The incident in Tula was particularly notable. The governor of the Tula region, Alexey Dyumin, stated that air defense systems had shot down two drones in Tula. However, one drone reportedly crashed into an apartment on the 12th floor of a residential building.
