Russia is conducting exercises involving the covert launch of Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles in the Volga region. These are not the first military training of this kind, Russia`s Ministry of Defense reports.

In particular, the Russian military department published a video showing the movement of Yars missile systems through a snowy forest.

"During maneuvering operations, the units are practicing tasks for dispersing in forested areas to enhance the concealment of the Yars mobile ground missile complexes," the statement says.

The ministry reported that the missiles were changing their combat positions on "combat patrol routes" under camouflage, moving up to 100 km across the terrain.

The report also mentioned that the troops practiced defense against reconnaissance and sabotage groups of a hypothetical enemy.

Yars is a nuclear-capable missile that can be transported on trucks or placed in silos. Russia conducted similar military training last year as a nuclear threat to the West amid the escalation of tensions due to the war in Ukraine.

Yars (RS-24) is a Russian strategic missile system with a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile. It was introduced into service in 2010. Its range extends up to 12,000 km. Warhead: A separable main part with multiple nuclear warheads.

In November 2023, Russia conducted unsuccessful tests of the Yars and Bulava missiles, which are carriers of nuclear weapons.
