Russia becoming the greatest threat to European security - German Foreign Ministry
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock warned that NATO should continue to support Ukraine. Russia remains the biggest threat to Europe's security, according to Der Standard.
"For the foreseeable future, Russia will remain the biggest threat to our security and freedom in Europe. The West must take measures to protect freedom and democracy. We did not choose this. We did not want this," she says.
According to Baerbock, the special responsibility for this lies with Germany, which thanks to its policy towards Russia has regained lost trust.
"We should not risk this during the budget negotiations," the Minister warns in connection with the ongoing dispute in the German coalition over the 2025 budget.
Germany's aid to Ukraine
Since the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Germany has provided Ukraine with significant military aid, including Leopard 2 tanks, Patriot anti-aircraft systems, PzH 2000 self-propelled guns, and much more.
Recently, it became known about the transfer of the third Patriot system to the Ukrainian military. This air defense system will help Ukraine effectively counter ballistic missiles used by Russia.
In addition, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the beginning of the transfer of 100 Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine.
