On the night of December 2, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on Ukraine, launching 62 Shahed, Gerbera, and other models of strike drones, according to the Air Force.

The launches were carried out from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, temporarily occupied Chauda in Crimea, and Donetsk. More than 35 of the drones launched were Shaheds.

The attack was repelled by units of anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

As of 08:30 a.m. local time, according to preliminary data, Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 39 enemy UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country. At the same time, there were 20 confirmed strike drone hits across eight locations.

The air-raid alert is partly still in effect, and several enemy drones remain in the sky.

Attack on the night of December 2

During the night of Tuesday, December 2, the Russian army struck the southern regions of Ukraine. The Izmail district in the Odesa region came under enemy fire.

According to preliminary information, the enemy targeted energy and civilian infrastructure — thousands of people were left without power. No reports of killed or injured had been received initially.

Later, DTEK reported that Russian forces attacked the company’s energy facility.

“8,000 households were reconnected through backup schemes. Another 36,300 are temporarily without power,” the statement said.

In addition, the day before, Russian forces hit Dnipro with ballistic missiles. Initially, it was reported that four people were killed and 15 wounded, but later the number of injured rose to 27.

As of the morning of December 2, the number of injured has increased to 45.
