Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles and drones overnight: Air defense's work reported
On the night of August 23, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with Shaheds and missiles. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down almost all targets, according to Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region and 16 Shahed strike UAVs (launch areas were the Russian cities of Yeysk and Kursk).
"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, the aviation, electronic warfare units, and calculations of the mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 14 Russian Shaheds. Two more were lost in the area, there was no information on damage," the statement says.
The Russian attacks took place over the territories of Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Sumy regions.
