Russia attacks Ukraine with drones and missiles: Air defense in action

On the night of December 25, Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones and two aircraft missiles. The air defense forces of Ukraine managed to shoot down almost all enemy targets. In addition, our warriors destroyed two Russian fighter jets, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia attacked with 31 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the areas of Chauda, Balaklava (Crimea), and two aircraft missiles.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 28 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze attack drones within Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
During the air attack, the enemy also used a Kh-59 guided missile in the Zaporizhzhia direction and a Kh-31P anti-aircraft missile from the Black Sea. Both were destroyed.
Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force also destroyed two enemy aircraft: one Su-34 in the Donetsk region (reported in the evening) and one Su-30SM over the Black Sea.
Russian attack on Ukraine on Christmas Eve
On Sunday evening, December 24, the Russian army attacked the southern regions of Ukraine. The Shaheds raid on Christmas Eve lasted 6.5 hours and led to fires in two regions.
First, enemy tactical aviation fired X-59 missiles in the direction of Kropyvnytskyi and X-31P missiles in the direction of Chornomorsk in the Odesa region. Air defense units destroyed both missiles.
And then the drone attack continued for 6.5 hours.
Air defense forces destroyed 22 Shahed-136 type attack UAVs:
- 17 in the Odesa region;
- 3 in the Kherson region;
- 1 in the Mykolaiv region;
- 1 in the Kirovohrad region.
The wreckage of the downed UAV caused damage to technical facilities in the port infrastructure of Odesa, and in Rozdilnyansky district, the wreckage also damaged an inoperable administrative building and a warehouse of a mothballed facility, and the fire was promptly extinguished. There were no casualties.
At the same time, a hit was not avoided in the Beryslav district of the Kherson region. A fire broke out in the warehouse, which firefighters have already extinguished, the Southern Defense Forces reported.
