Russia attacking in Kurakhove direction, Ukraine's Forces destroy tanks and eliminate 36 troops - General Staff
The Russian Federation continues its attempts to advance along the entire front line. Currently, one of the hottest directions is Kurakhove, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"It's hot today in the Kurakhove direction. The total number of attacks per day has increased to 15. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled 12 assault actions by Russian forces," the statement said.
Near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka, the enemy continues attempts to improve tactical positions and acts with the support of armored vehicles.
Today, preliminary reports indicate that our soldiers have wounded 60 and eliminated 36 occupiers. Two enemy tanks, a combat armored vehicle, two vehicles, and a ground drone control station have been destroyed. Three enemy vehicles and four tanks have been damaged.
The number of clashes along the entire front line has increased to 71.
Situation on the frontlines
The most intense fighting has taken place in the Pokrovsk direction since the beginning of this day. Meanwhile, throughout the day, the aggressors also continue their attempts to break through our defense in the Kupiansk and Kurakhove directions.
In the Kupiansk direction, the number of clashes has increased to nine. Our soldiers successfully repelled eight attacks, while one is ongoing in the area of Pishchane.
Russian forces remain active in the Lyman direction. There have been seven clashes reported so far. The enemy continues to press on our defense in the areas of Hrekivka and Nevske – two clashes are ongoing.
Three attempts by the aggressors to improve their tactical position near Rozdolivka were repelled in the Siversk direction during the day.
The situation remains tense in the Pokrovsk direction. There have been 24 clashes here since the beginning of the day. Our forces repelled 14 attacks, while 10 are still ongoing. The fighting is currently taking place in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Sokil, and Novopokrovske.
On the rest of the directions, there are no significant changes.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that the most intense fighting in the past day was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. Additionally, Ukrainian forces had success during counterattacks in the northern part of the Kharkiv region.
