Russia dropped guided aerial bombs on the village of Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhzhia region. One of them fell near a fire station, injuring rescuers, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

"On December 12, the occupiers struck the settlement of Stepnohirsk with guided aerial bombs," the statement says.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, one of the bombs fell near the fire and rescue unit building, resulting in injuries to three firefighters.

"They were hospitalized with mine-explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds. Their condition is stable, and their lives are not currently in danger," Ukraine's State Emergency Service noted.

Shelling of Stepnohirsk

Stepnohirsk is a settlement in the Vasylivskyi district of the Zaporizhzhia region. Russian forces regularly shell this area.

For instance, on Ukraine's Independence Day, August 24, the Russian military targeted Stepnohirsk with artillery. Three State Emergency Service workers were injured in that attack.

Shelling of rescuers has become a common tactic used by the Russians. They frequently employ this method, especially in frontline areas. Moreover, these attacks are often deliberate, as the Russian army uses the tactic of "double-tap strike", when the first air strike is followed by a second attack, targeting rescuers trying to help the wounded.
