Rubio: Trump will ask Zelenskyy to agree to energy ceasefire

On the evening of September 22, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet in New York. Among other things, the leaders will discuss the terms of an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Fox News.
Rubio on the energy ceasefire
Rubio supports an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. He repeated Trump's previous calls for both countries to stop attacking energy facilities.
"We think that would be a great idea — an energy infrastructure ceasefire, in which Ukraine’s infrastructure is not being targeted, and Russian energy supplies are not being targeted as well," he said.
According to Rubio, Trump wants to discuss halting strikes on energy infrastructure in Ukraine and Russia during his meeting with Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had already arrived in New York and was expected to meet with US President Donald Trump today on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
It was also reported that French President Emmanuel Macron announced discussions with US President Donald Trump about an initiative to secure an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia.
In addition, Trump has repeatedly asked Zelenskyy to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries. According to Trump, such strikes drive up global diesel prices.
