During a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated the Kremlin's previous position on resolving the war, informs RIA Novosti.

"Yes, we discussed Ukraine. We confirmed the position President Putin has outlined, including once again on July 3 during a conversation with President Trump," Lavrov said.

Rubio, for his part, said that during the talks in Malaysia, Russia presented a "new and different approach" regarding Ukraine. However, he did not specify what exactly the proposal entails.

Lavrov–Rubio meeting

Rubio met with Lavrov in Malaysia on July 10. One of the key topics was Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.

After the talks, Rubio said President Donald Trump was disappointed by Russia's lack of flexibility needed to end the war. He added that the White House strategy is to continue engaging with all sides involved in seeking a resolution to the conflict.
