US Secretary of State Marco Rubio rejected accusations that Ukrainians are dying because the US refused to share intelligence and denied deliberately restricting military aid.
According to the secretary of state, the US Department of Defense has not changed its approach to Ukraine. He stressed that Washington continues to follow its previous course.
“Everything we've been doing with Ukraine remains the same. That was not changed,” Rubio said.
He also denied that the United States is deliberately refusing to supply Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles.
The US is not deliberately refusing to supply Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles, the secretary of state added.
Rubio outraged by claims about Ukrainian deaths
The US secretary of state also commented on statements made by people close to the Ukrainian government claiming that people in Ukraine are dying because American intelligence information is not being provided.
Rubio strongly rejected these accusations.
“That's scandalous. That's outrageous. That's just simply not true. That's not accurate,” he said.
He also noted that US President Donald Trump reacts to insinuations that the American administration is making deliberate attempts to harm Ukraine.
According to Rubio, such claims are unfair and do not reflect reality.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that US President Donald Trump's administration had not approved the transfer of interceptor missiles to Ukraine for Patriot systems.
Against this backdrop, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had discussed the need for interceptors with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to counter ballistic missiles and provide early warnings of Russian strikes.
