This day six years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement. They first met in July 2016 and had their first romantic date when Meghan was in London to watch Wimbledon.
A few weeks later, Meghan and Harry went to Botswana, where they traveled together.
The couple kept their relationship a secret for several months, but in October 2016, rumors began to appear about Harry's new girlfriend.
Despite the rumors, it was only in September 2017 that the couple first appeared in public at Harry's Invictus Games in Canada.
Before announcing their engagement, the royal couple had been dating for about 16 months. This is a completely standard period to understand that the person next to you is truly the one.

Meghan and Harry got married on May 19, 2018, in Windsor. Their wedding day was historic as Meghan became the first American to marry into the British royal family since Wallis Simpson in 1937.
The wedding, broadcasted by millions of channels worldwide, took place in the St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
On May 6, 2019, the couple welcomed their first child, named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. On June 4, 2021, their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, was born. The girl was born in America.
Now the family lives in California with their children and continues to build their self-supported future in another state, as far as possible from their relatives in Great Britain.
