In the urban-type settlement of Orlovsky, Rostov region, Russia, the Dvoynaya traction substation was damaged, according to Russian sources.

It is reported that a fire broke out near the substation as a result of an attack by unknown drones.

A traction substation is a specialized power facility on a railway line designed to receive and convert electricity from the general power grid and supply it to the electrified contact network to power electric trains, freight trains, and shunting locomotives, as well as to provide power for the station’s own needs (lighting, communications, etc.).

Dvoynaya is a railway station in the Rostov region of the North Caucasus Railway, located in the settlement of Orlovsky, Rostov region. It is situated on the electrified line Volgograd-1 – Salsk.

The substation is part of the Salsk electrical supply division system.

Drone strike in the Rostov region

Last night, strike drones attacked the Rostov region in Russia.

Residents of Salsk and Volgodonsk reported air defense activity and explosions.

As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at the railway station in the city of Salsk, which is a major railway hub in the southeastern part of the Rostov region.
