On the night of October 10, drones attacked Rostov-on-Don; a massive fire broke out following a series of explosions. The attack likely targeted the oil loading terminal at the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant, according to the OSINT channel Exilenova+.

Residents of Rostov described a series of explosions, after which a fire broke out in the city. Eyewitness videos show large flames and thick smoke.

According to Exilenova+, the oil loading terminal of the Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant was hit. Russian authorities have not yet issued any official comments regarding the consequences of the attack.

The Novoshakhtinsk oil products plant is one of the largest oil refineries in southern Russia.

The plant’s products are shipped via the oil loading terminal for further transportation.

The attack occurred a few hours after US President Donald Trump announced an agreement with Russian president Vladimir Putin on the supply of Russian diesel to global markets. A well-informed source within the Ukrainian government told RBC-Ukraine that without an energy truce, strikes on Russian oil refineries would continue.
