Roof fire reported at Kyiv residential building due to Russian attack
Ukraine is under heavy Russian missile attack. In central Kyiv, the roof of a residential building is on fire after rocket debris fell, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
According to the mayor, the roof of a building in the Pechersk district is on fire. Emergency services are heading to the scene.
"As a result of a missile strike on Kyiv, rocket debris fell in the Pechersk district, causing a fire on the roof of a five-story residential building. Information regarding casualties is being clarified," said Serhii Popko, the head of KCMA.
The head of KCMA reported that one person was injured in the attack and has been handed over to medical personnel.
Massive missile shelling of Ukraine
After 3:00 AM (Kyiv time), Russian forces launched 17 Tu-95 strategic bombers.
Additionally, Russians deployed four ships into the Black Sea, capable of launching 24 Kalibr missiles simultaneously.
At around 6:00 AM, missile launches were detected from strategic aviation, the Black Sea, and the Crimean territory.
At 6:40 AM, a series of powerful explosions occurred in Kyiv. Air defense forces are active.
