The Russians attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles, Kalibrs from the Black Sea, as well as drones. As a result of the enemy's attack, there are casualties, victims, and damages.

Russian attack on Ukraine

During the night of April 6, 2024, Russian occupiers attacked with 32 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk - RF.

Additionally, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with six missiles of various types:

  • three S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from the Belgorod region;
  • two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from strategic aviation aircraft from the Saratov region;
  • one Kalibr cruise missile from the Black Sea.

Kharkiv region

In Kharkiv, explosions were heard during the night air raid alarm. According to the Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, Russian forces hit near residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

"As a result of the occupant's strike, one civilian man was killed. Data is being determined. At least seven people were injured," Syniehubov wrote.

The Chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kharkiv, Volodymyr Tymoshko, reported that Russians struck the city with S-300 missiles.

"At night, the Russians struck Kharkiv with S-300 missiles. While the city slept. After midnight, in the residential quarter of the Shevchenkivskyi district, the Russian invaders launched two missiles from the S-300 surface-to-air missile system," the police reported.

Shortly after, drones attacked the regional center. There were explosions in the city, and air defense systems were active.

In the morning, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported an increase in the number of casualties and fatalities.

"As a result of the night strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district, as of this morning, we have six fatalities and 10 wounded," said Terekhov.

Oleh Syniehubov also provided updated information.

"The youngest injured is 23 years old. The young man suffered explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds. In stable condition are also a 25-year-old and a 71-year-old woman, six men aged 35 to 85 years old. Other casualties have minor injuries," wrote the Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

As reported by Syniehubov, the number of casualties from the attack has increased. Eleven people were wounded.

Zaporizhzhia region

During the air raid alarm in Zaporizhzhia, explosions were heard. Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that Russians attacked the regional center with missiles.

"For the second day, the enemy has been heavily attacking Zaporizhzhia. In the morning, Russians targeted the city with missiles. Industrial enterprises have been damaged. Preliminarily, there were no casualties," Fedorov said.

Anatolii Kurtyev, Secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council, reported damage to residential buildings, medical facilities, and educational institutions.

"After the morning enemy attack, damage to educational and medical institutions, as well as residential buildings (mostly broken windows), was recorded in the city. No one was injured this time," the secretary wrote.

Kyiv region

Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region with drones. The air defense system is reported to be in operation.

"Enemy drones movement detected! Air defense forces are active in the region. Do not photograph or film the work of our defenders," Kyiv Regional Military Administration stated.

In the town of Makariv near Kyiv, the premises of one private enterprise were damaged by debris. There are no casualties or injuries.

Kherson region

The Ukrainian Defense Forces reported that seven Shahed drones were destroyed in the Kherson region. However, there was a hit on an agro-industrial enterprise, resulting in a fire.

The fire has already been extinguished. There is no information about any casualties.

Khmelnytskyi region

Explosions were also heard by residents of the Khmelnytskyi region. The Air Force reported a drone heading towards the region.

Air Force operations

As reported by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk, two cruise missiles, Kalibr, and 28 drones were shot down.

"As a result of the air combat by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, one Kalibr cruise missile, and 28 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs were shot down," the statement said.
