Right things: EU responds to Trump's remarks on Ukraine and Russia EU reaction to Trump's statements about Ukraine and Russia

The European Union reacted positively to the latest statements by US President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine and Russia, as EU High Representative Kaja Kallas says in a comment to journalists.

According to the diplomat, the EU is "very positive" about Trump's latest remarks.

In particular, Kallas said that all of the mentioned points were the right things. The EU High Representative also agreed that they must stop buying Russian energy, that Ukraine has to win the war, and that all the other statements Trump had made that day about Ukraine and Russia were correct.

The EU’s high-ranking official called Trump’s statement "very strong" and stressed that she had "not heard it in this format before."

"So it's really good that now we share a common understanding. Of course, as I've said, all global players must increase pressure on Russia to stop this war, because it is clear they only escalate the situation and do not seek peace. Therefore, any actions in this direction from all parties would be very welcome," Kallas noted.

Trump's statement

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said Ukraine can fully restore its territorial integrity with the support of the European Union and then "go even further."

Trump clarified that this is possible "with time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO."

Furthermore, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the US will provide Ukraine with security guarantees "after the war is over."
