Rheinmetall will soon complete construction of second plant in Ukraine - Rütte
The German defense company Rheinmetall is completing the construction of its second factory in Ukraine, with the first factory having opened only recently, according to NATO Secretary General Mark Rütte's statement at a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Rütte emphasized that the German defense industry is crucial for the security of Europe and the defense of Ukraine.
In particular, in Bavaria, American and European companies, in collaboration with NATO, are producing 1,000 anti-aircraft missiles for the Patriot air defense system at a new facility.
"The German arms company Rheinmetall has just opened its first factory in Ukraine, and a second factory will soon be built. Since 2022, Rheinmetall has significantly increased its ammunition production," Rütte added.
According to him, NATO countries must accelerate production rates to ensure safety for a billion citizens.
"This is why we are enhancing support for Ukraine and are already collaborating with the European Union and other like-minded partners around the world," the Secretary General said.

At the end of October, Rheinmetall director Armin Papperger announced that his company had opened its first plant in Ukraine. A total of four such factories will be built.
He specified that one of these factories would produce ammunition.
