Five people were killed and three others injured as a result of a Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia on 20 November, according to Zaporizhzhia regional governor Ivan Fedorov and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

On Thursday, 20 November, at 10:10 PM Kyiv time, Russian forces launched a strike on Zaporizhzhia.

According to preliminary information, five people were killed and three others injured. The number of casualties is being clarified.

Zaporizhzhia regional governor Ivan Fedorov published photos and a video from the impact site.

At first, he reported two fatalities, but the number continued to rise.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the strike caused fires in several market kiosks and a passenger car.

The agency also released photos and video showing firefighters working to extinguish all the blazes.

The State Emergency Service noted that its psychologists assisted twelve people.

The SES explosive ordnance disposal team is inspecting the area for any unexploded ordnance.

Attacks on Zaporizhzhia

Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia and the wider region with loitering munitions. An explosion was heard in the city.

In the early hours of 7 November, Zaporizhzhia also came under attack by Russian forces. Windows were shattered in apartment buildings and a kindergarten. Shortly before the explosions, the Air Force had warned of a threat of strikes with guided aerial bombs.

On 5 November, Russian forces in the Zaporizhzhia region targeted a rescue vehicle with a strike drone, and four people were injured in the attack.
