The Russian army shelled Ukrainian rescuers who were at that time clearing the aftermath of a previous attack by occupiers in Kherson, according to the Telegram channel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to the agency, due to another Russian shelling in one of the districts of Kherson, a fire broke out in a garage cooperative. Rescue teams immediately rushed there to deal with the aftermath of the strike.

At that moment, the Russian army employed their usual tactic of double strikes and targeted the same area again. The firefighting unit that arrived to extinguish the fire came under renewed shelling.

"Unfortunately, two rescuers sustained shrapnel injuries. They were transported to a medical facility in moderate to serious condition. Additionally, a fire truck was damaged," the statement said.
