A strike on Red Square would attract the attention of the world, but drones should not be wasted because of Moscow’s reinforced security. Attacks on the energy sector or military facilities would be more effective, stated the commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, according to The Guardian.

He acknowledged that a "symbolic" strike on Red Square would draw global attention, but noted that Ukraine would likely strike where Russian air defenses are weaker.

"Why waste drones on the 'great wall'. If you hit the energy sector or military, that’s the best strike, on the periphery," Madyar said.

Earlier, the Kremlin published a list of guests expected to attend the military parade in Moscow. Most of the foreign attendees are representatives of unrecognized states or self-proclaimed leaders.

It also became known that the May 9 military parade in Moscow will take place without the traditional display of armored vehicles. Only marching military units are expected to appear on Red Square.

On Friday, May 8, ahead of the parade, the Kremlin revoked accreditation for foreign media outlets. Only Russian journalists were allowed to cover the event.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said ahead of May 9 that he does not recommend visiting Moscow during the May 9 celebrations.

In addition, Russian officials have repeatedly threatened massive missile strikes on the central districts of Kyiv if the Ukrainian authorities attempt to disrupt the May 9 celebrations in Moscow.

The Kremlin also called on residents of the Ukrainian capital and foreign diplomats to evacuate Kyiv.
