Pomegranate is a healthy fruit rich in nutrients, making it especially popular in the cold season. However, it's not always possible to quickly peel a pomegranate without leaving juice stains, and Olha Riabenko shares 3 lifehacks on how to do so.

Method 1: tap the pomegranate

If the presentation and appearance of the fruit are not important, you can use a regular spoon to separate the pomegranate seeds from the skin. First, cut the fruit in half.

Holding the pomegranate half over a bowl with the skin facing up, tap the skin with a spoon or wooden spatula. "Knock out" the seeds until they are all in the bowl.

However, in order not to decorate the walls and ceiling with crimson splashes, keep the pomegranate half as low as possible to the bottom of the bowl.

Method 2: cut the pomegranate into a star shape

This method of peeling pomegranates is ideal for a spectacular and aesthetic presentation, for example, to treat guests at a festive table.

First, you need to make a shallow cut in a circle, on the side where the flower of the fruit used to be, thus separating the "cap" of the pomegranate.

After that, you need to carefully make shallow cuts along the sides of the fruit, where the boundaries of the fruit sections meet. With the fruit cap cut off, the section boundaries can be easily identified by the white membranes.

It is important not to cut the fruit all the way through so that the particles remain connected. Gently open the pomegranate by pressing lightly on the center. As a result, the cut fruit should look like a rose.

Before serving the pomegranate, remove the white membranes inside the fruit.

Method 3: peel the pomegranate in water

To peel a pomegranate without leaving a single stain, you can use a bowl of water. First of all, you need to cut off the top of the pomegranate, and then make vertical cuts on the fruit along the membranes of the sections.

After placing the pomegranate in a bowl of water, separate the parts of the fruit with your hands. Separate the seeds from the peel - they will settle to the bottom of the bowl, while the peel will float on the surface of the water.

After that, just pour the water with the seeds through a sieve and enjoy the healthy fruit.
