The US Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, stated that all key leaders, including President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are committed to its resolution. He also emphasized the importance of negotiations in addressing the conflict, reports CNN.

Witkoff stressed that all sides must be prepared for talks to achieve peace. However, he also shared his perspective on Putin’s actions regarding a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

"I don't want to put words in President Putin's mouth, but I think he's indicated that he accepts President Trump's philosophy. President Trump wants to see an end to this. I think President Putin wants to see an end to this," he said.

The US Special Envoy noted that fighting continues on the frontlines between Ukrainian and Russian forces, particularly along the 2,000-kilometer border. He also highlighted the significance of the situation in Russia’s Kursk region.

"There's a Kursk region that's important to think about here. These are all details that have to get worked out at the table, and I believe all sides are committed to doing that," Witkoff stated.

Earlier, Witkoff, the US Special Envoy for the Middle East, said he had developed a "friendship" with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Previously, US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg explained that Washington is working on two tracks regarding the resolution of the war. He noted that he is responsible for negotiations with Ukraine and Europe, while his colleague Steve Witkoff is in charge of the Russian track.
