Putin to visit India for first time since start of war
Russian President Vladimir Putin may visit India next year. He plans to hold a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stated Putin's foreign policy aide, Yury Ushakov, according to CNN-News18.
As Ushakov said, Putin and Modi "have an agreement" to meet annually.
"We received Mr. Modi’s invitation and we will certainly consider it positively," he added.
He clarified that the exact dates for the Russian President's visit will be determined in early 2025.
This will be Putin's first visit to India since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
Modi’s visit to Moscow
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Moscow in July caused controversy.
He met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the same day Russian forces launched a massive strike on Ukraine. Among the targets was the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv.
As a result of the attack, there were victims and injuries. The Okhmatdyt building was destroyed.
