Putin says he is ready for 'discussions' with Trump
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has expressed openness to the possibility of talks with Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election. However, he has not yet called him, citing remarks from the Kremlin leader at the Valdai Discussion Club.
The dictator said that he 'does not find it inappropriate' to call Trump but claimed he refrains from doing so because "Western leaders have suddenly stopped calling him."
In this context, Putin was asked if he was ready to hold discussions with Trump.
"Ready," the Kremlin leader replied.
Ambiguous statements by Trump
Donald Trump has repeatedly said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is his friend. The American politician has also spoken of his good relationship with the Kremlin leader.
However, Trump recently claimed he had threatened to strike the center of Moscow if Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine.
In response, the Kremlin leader commented on Trump’s claim, saying he supposedly does not recall any such threats.
Meanwhile, media reports have suggested that Putin has allegedly already congratulated Trump on his victory in the presidential election.
